The Battle of Hunain and the Oath of Kufr

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) was going to battle and reminded his followers of the time when the pagans of Quraish took an oath against him.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger , while going out for the battle of Hunain, said, "Tomorrow Allah willing, we will encamp at Khaif Bani Kinana where the pagans(of Quraish) took the oath of Kufr (against the Prophet ie to be loyal to heathenism, by boycotting Banu Hashim, the Prophet's folk.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ حِينَ أَرَادَ حُنَيْنًا ‏ "‏ مَنْزِلُنَا غَدًا إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ بِخَيْفِ بَنِي كِنَانَةَ، حَيْثُ تَقَاسَمُوا عَلَى الْكُفْرِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a battle that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was going to fight. He reminded his followers about a time when the pagans from Quraish took an oath against him called ‘Kufr’. This oath was taken by boycotting Banu Hashim which were people related to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. This hadith teaches us that we should never forget our history and be aware of what happened in the past so that we can learn from it and not make similar mistakes again. It also teaches us to stand up for ourselves and our family no matter what happens or how difficult it may seem at first. We should always remember that Allah is with us no matter what happens in life and He will help us if we put our trust in Him.
