Musnad Ahmad 473 (Book 4, Hadith 67) #34141
The Power of Wudoo and Prayers

SUMMARY: Doing wudoo properly and praying five times a day can expiate sins.

Abu Sakhrah Jami’ bin Shaddad told me that he said: I heard Humran bin Aban tell Abu Burdah in the mosque of Basrah, when I was standing next to him, that he heard 'Uthman bin 'Affan (رضي الله عنه) narrating from the Prophet that he said: 'Whoever does wudoo’ properly as enjoined by Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, the five prayers will be an expiation for whatever comes in between them'.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the power of wudoo and prayers. It was narrated by Uthman bin 'Affan who heard it from the Prophet Muhammad. The gist of this hadith is that if someone does their wudoo properly as prescribed by Allah, then their five daily prayers will be an expiation for any sins they have committed in between them. This means that if someone prays regularly and does their wudoo correctly, then they will be forgiven for any wrongdoings they may have done in between those prayers. This teaches us to always strive to do our best when it comes to our religious obligations such as prayer and wudoo so that we can receive Allah's forgiveness for our mistakes.
