The Rewards of Being a Stranger

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said that Islam began as something strange and will go back to being strange, and those who leave their families and tribes are the strangers who will be rewarded.

It was narrated from 'Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah said: "Islam began as something strange and will go back to being strange, so glad tidings to the strangers". It was said: "Who are the strangers?’ He said: "Strangers who have left their families and tribes".
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ وَكِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي الأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ ـ ‏ "‏ إِنَّ الإِسْلاَمَ بَدَأَ غَرِيبًا وَسَيَعُودُ غَرِيبًا فَطُوبَى لِلْغُرَبَاءِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ قِيلَ وَمَنِ الْغُرَبَاءُ قَالَ النُّزَّاعُ مِنَ الْقَبَائِلِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the rewards of leaving one's family and tribe for the sake of Allah. It was narrated by Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah said, "Islam began as something strange and will go back to being strange, so glad tidings to the strangers." When asked who these strangers were, he replied that they were those who have left their families and tribes. This hadith teaches us that it is important to put our faith in Allah first before anything else. It also encourages us to be brave enough to leave our comfort zones in order to follow what we believe in. Furthermore, it reminds us that there are rewards for those who make sacrifices for their faith even if it means leaving behind loved ones or familiar places.
