Warning Against Hypocrisy

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) warned against the signs of a hypocrite, which are lying, breaking promises and dishonesty.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "The signs of a hypocrite are three: I Whenever he speaks, he tells a lie. II Whenever he promises, he always breaks it (his promise ). III If you trust him, he proves to be dishonest. (If you keep something as a trust with him, he will not return it)"
