Punishment for Stealing Produce and Spadix of Palm Trees

SUMMARY: Stealing produce or the spadix of palm trees should not be punished by cutting off the hand.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said: "The hand is not to be cut off for (stealing) produce or the spadix of palm trees".
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيُّ، عَنْ أَخِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ لاَ قَطْعَ فِي ثَمَرٍ وَلاَ كَثَرٍ
