SUMMARY: The guarantor is responsible for the debt and must ensure it is repaid.

Shurahbil bin Muslim Al-Khawlani said: I heard Abu Umamah Al-Bahil say: "I heard the Messenger of Allah say: "The guarantor is responsible and the debt must be repaid'. "

QUICK LESSONS:
Agreeing to something only when you can fulfill your obligations and promises; Taking responsibility for your actions; Being honest with others; Ensuring debts are repaid in full when you have agreed to be a guarantor.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the responsibility of a guarantor. A guarantor is someone who agrees to be responsible for another person's debt or obligation if they are unable to pay it back. In this hadith, the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) states that if someone agrees to be a guarantor then they must ensure that the debt is repaid. This means that even if the original debtor cannot repay their loan, then it becomes the responsibility of the guarantor to make sure that it gets paid back in full. It teaches us about being honest and taking responsibility for our actions and words. We should not agree to something unless we are sure we can fulfill our obligations and promises.
