Responding to the Call of Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that it is obligatory to respond to the call of prayer and those who do not come without an excuse have an invalid prayer.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that: The Prophet said: "Whoever hears the call and does not come, his prayer is not valid, except for those who have an excuse".

QUICK LESSONS:
Responding quickly after hearing the call; Attending congregational prayers regularly; Obeying Allah's commands; Respecting religious obligations; Striving towards righteousness and piety.

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, taught that responding to the call of prayer is obligatory for all Muslims. This means that when a person hears the call for prayer, they must go and pray in congregation with other Muslims. If someone does not come without a valid excuse then their prayer will be considered invalid. This hadith teaches us about the importance of responding to the call of prayer and how it is necessary for our prayers to be accepted by Allah Almighty. It also reminds us that we should always strive to attend congregational prayers as much as possible so we can benefit from its many blessings.
