Facing the Qiblah in Toilet Etiquette

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) advised people to face the Qiblah while using the toilet.

It was narrated that 'Aishah said: "Mention was made in the presence of the Messenger of Allah of some people who did not like to face towards the Qiblah with their private parts. He said: 'I think that they do that. Turn my seat (in the toilet) to face the Qiblah'." (Da'if) Another chain with similar wording.

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow proper etiquette when using a toilet and remember to always keep your direction towards Kaaba while doing so.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about proper etiquette when using the toilet. It was narrated by 'Aishah that in the presence of Prophet Muhammad, some people were mentioned who did not like to face towards the Qiblah with their private parts. In response, he said that he thought they did that and asked them to turn his seat in the toilet to face towards it. This hadith teaches us that we should always be mindful of our actions and maintain proper etiquette even when we are alone or in private places such as a bathroom or restroom. We should also remember to always keep our direction towards the Kaaba, which is known as facing towards the Qiblah, no matter where we are or what we are doing.
