Sunan Ibn Majah 325 (Book 1, Hadith 59) #29677
Facing the Qiblah While Urinating

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) forbade facing the Qiblah while urinating, but was seen doing so one year before his death.

It was narrated that Jabir said: "The Messenger of Allah forbade facing the Qiblah when urinating. But I saw him, one year before he died, facing the Qiblah (while urinating)".

QUICK LESSONS:
Be respectful when performing daily activities
EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, taught us that it is not permissible to face the qiblah while urinating. This is because it is considered disrespectful and impolite to do so. However, one year before he passed away, he was seen facing the qiblah while urinating. This could be due to a number of reasons such as being in a hurry or simply forgetting in that moment. It serves as an example for us that even prophets make mistakes and can forget things at times. We should take this hadith as a reminder to always be mindful and respectful when performing our daily activities such as going to the bathroom or praying salat.
