Generosity vs Stinginess

SUMMARY: The believer is noble and generous, while the stingy person is deceitful and untrustworthy.

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: "The believer is naively noble and the stingy person is deceitfully treacherous".

QUICK LESSONS:
Be generous with others when possible

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that believers should be generous and noble in their actions. They should not be stingy or deceitful as this will lead to treachery. Being generous does not mean giving away all of one's possessions; rather it means being mindful of others' needs and helping them when possible. On the other hand, stinginess leads to a lack of trustworthiness as people become suspicious of those who are always trying to get something for nothing. It also leads to a lack of generosity which can have negative effects on society as a whole. Therefore, believers should strive to be generous in their dealings with others so that they can build strong relationships based on trust and mutual respect.
