Major Sins in Islam

SUMMARY: The biggest of the major sins is to join partners with Allah and disobeying one's parents, as well as false testimony or false speech.

'Abdur-Rahman bin Abi Bakrah narrated from his father who said: " The messenger of Allah said: 'Shall I not tell you of the biggest of the major sins?' they said : 'Of course! O Messenger of Allah!' He said: 'To join partners with Allah, and disobeying one's parents'."He said : " He sat up, and he had been reclining. He said: 'And false testimony, or false speech'. And the Messenger of Allah would not stop saying it until we said (to ourselves): 'I wish that he would stop'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Respect for God , Obedience towards Parents .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains that the two biggest major sins in Islam are joining partners with Allah and disobeying one's parents. Joining partners with Allah means believing that there is another god besides Him, which is a form of disbelief and polytheism. Disobeying one's parents means not following their orders or advice, even if it goes against what you want to do. Additionally, this hadith also mentions two other major sins which are false testimony and false speech. These refer to lying about something or saying something bad about someone else without any proof or evidence. It is important for Muslims to remember these four major sins so they can avoid them at all costs and stay away from anything that could lead them towards committing them.
