Respect your parent/s; show love and appreciation towards them; obey their orders when they are reasonable; seek their advice when making decisions; thank them for all they have done for you; pray for them often; spend time with them whenever possible etc..

This hadith speaks of the importance of respecting one's parents, as it is a gateway to paradise. It was narrated by Abu 'Abdur-Rahman As-Sulami from Abu Ad Darda', who said that a man came and said his mother has ordered him to divorce his wife. In response, Abu Ad-Darda said he heard the Prophet Muhammad saying that "the father is the middle gate to paradise". This means that if you respect your parents, you will be rewarded with entrance into paradise. It also implies that if you do not respect your parents, then you may be denied entry into paradise. Therefore, this hadith encourages us to show our love and appreciation for our parents in order for us to gain Allah's blessings in this life and hereafter.
