QUICK LESSONS:
Show mercy and forgiveness towards others as well as repent sincerely for your sins.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about Allah's mercy towards those who participated in the battle of Badr. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ reported that Allah looked upon those who fought in this battle with mercy and said "Do whatever you wish; I have forgiven you." This shows us how merciful and forgiving Allah is. Even though these people were fighting a war, they were still given a chance to be forgiven by their Lord. This teaches us that no matter what we do or how bad our actions may be, if we turn back to Him with sincere repentance then He will forgive us for our sins. It also teaches us to show mercy towards others as well because just as Allah has shown His mercy towards us, we should show it towards others too.
