The Promise of Salvation

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) promised that anyone who took the oath of allegiance under a tree will not go to hell.

Jabir reported the Messenger of Allah as saying: No one of those who took the oath of allegiance under the tree will go to hell.
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، وَيَزِيدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الرَّمْلِيُّ، أَنَّ اللَّيْثَ، حَدَّثَهُمْ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ ‏ "‏ لاَ يَدْخُلُ النَّارَ أَحَدٌ مِمَّنْ بَايَعَ تَحْتَ الشَّجَرَةِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the promise made by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to those who took an oath of allegiance under a tree. It is said that this event happened during the Battle of Uhud when Muslims were outnumbered and outmatched by their enemies. In order to boost morale and encourage his followers, the Prophet ﷺ promised them that if they take an oath of allegiance under a tree then they will be saved from hellfire. This hadith teaches us about loyalty and faithfulness towards our commitments as well as having trust in Allah’s mercy and forgiveness. It also shows us how important it is for leaders to motivate their followers in difficult times with words of hope and assurance.
