Forgiveness and Mercy over Retaliation

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) always encouraged people to forgive and show mercy instead of seeking revenge.

Narrated Anas ibn Malik: I never saw the Messenger of Allah that some dispute which involved retaliation was brought to him but he commanded regarding it for remission.
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُزَنِيُّ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي مَيْمُونَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ مَا رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ رُفِعَ إِلَيْهِ شَىْءٌ فِيهِ قِصَاصٌ إِلاَّ أَمَرَ فِيهِ بِالْعَفْوِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of forgiveness and mercy in Islam. It is narrated by Anas ibn Malik that he never saw the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) when a dispute involving retaliation was brought to him, but he commanded for its remission. This shows us that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) always encouraged people to forgive and show mercy instead of seeking revenge or retaliation. He taught us that it is better to be kind, merciful, and forgiving than it is to seek revenge or take matters into our own hands.
