Sunan Abi Dawud 2626 (Book 15, Hadith 150) #22917
Obedience and Listening in Islam

SUMMARY: A Muslim must obey and listen to their superiors, unless they are commanded to do something that goes against the teachings of Allah.

'Abd Allaah bin Masud reported the Apostle of Allaah as saying "Listening and Obedience are binding on a Muslim whether he likes or dislikes, so long as he is not commanded for disobedience (to Allaah). If he is commanded to disobedience (to Allaah), no listening and disobedience are binding (on him).

QUICK LESSONS:
Listen and obey your superiors so long as they don't ask you do something wrong
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith emphasizes the importance of obedience and listening for Muslims. It is important for Muslims to obey their superiors, as long as it does not go against the teachings of Allah. If a superior commands something that goes against Allah's teachings, then it is not necessary for a Muslim to obey them. This hadith teaches us that we should always strive to be obedient and listen carefully, but also be aware of when our superiors are asking us to do something wrong. We should never compromise our faith or beliefs in order to please someone else.
