Fulfilling Commands of the Prophet (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) rebuked a man for not fulfilling his command and urged others to appoint someone who will fulfill it.

Narrated Uqbah ibn Malik: The Prophet sent a detachment. I gave a sword to a man from among them. When he came back, he said: Would that you saw us how the Messenger of Allah rebuked us, saying: When I sent out a man who does not fulfill my command, are you unable to appoint in his place one who will fulfill my command.
