Narrated Ibn 'Umar: I saw the people buy foodstuff randomly (ie blindly without measuring it) in the lifetime of Allah's Apostle and they were punished (by beating), if they tried to sell it before carrying it to their own houses.
This hadith also teaches us about accountability and justice; if someone tries to cheat another person out of their money by selling them something without properly measuring it, then they will be held accountable for their actions and punished accordingly. It is important to remember this lesson when dealing with others in any kind of transaction; fairness is essential for a just society where everyone can trust each other's word and feel secure in their dealings with one another.
Finally, this hadith reminds us of the importance of following Allah's commands even if it seems inconvenient at times; even though people may have been tempted to buy or sell things without properly measuring them in order to save time or effort, Allah's Apostle taught them that this was wrong and punishable by law - thus reminding us all of our duty to obey His commands no matter what the cost may be.
