Fighting for Faith

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was commanded to fight people until they accept the Islamic faith, and if they do, their lives and wealth are protected.

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allah SAW said: 'I have been commanded to fight the people until they say La ilaha illallah. If they say it, then their blood and wealth are prohibited for me, except for a right that is due, and their reckoning will be with Allah'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Believe in Allah , Protect Muslims from harm or injustice
EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Abu Hurairah states that the Prophet Muhammad was commanded to fight people until they accept the Islamic faith of La ilaha illallah. This means that those who do not believe in Allah as the one true God should be fought against. However, if they do accept this belief then their lives and wealth are protected from harm except for a right that is due. This implies that even though those who have accepted Islam will be safe from harm, there may still be consequences for any wrongdoings or debts owed. Ultimately, it is up to Allah to decide how these matters will be judged on Judgment Day. This hadith teaches us about the importance of believing in Allah as well as protecting those who have accepted Islam from any harm or injustice.
