EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the revelation of a Quranic verse in Surah An-Nisa’ 4:24 . It was revealed when Muslims were taking captives on the day of Autas who had their husbands. The verse states that it is permissible for Muslims to take captives as slaves except for those who are already married. This means that it is not permissible for Muslims to have sexual intercourse with married women they have taken captive. This teaches us that even though slavery was allowed in Islam at this time, there were still limits and regulations set by Allah regarding how these people should be treated and respected.
