EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith emphasizes the importance of being mindful of one's actions and words. It is narrated on the authority of Hisham that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “The most excellent worship is to be conscious of Allah in private and in public”. Being conscious or mindful means to remember Allah at all times, whether it is when we are alone or with others. We should strive to have good manners, morals, and ethics when we interact with people around us as well as when we are by ourselves. We should also be aware that our words have an impact on those around us; therefore, it is important for us to speak kindly and respectfully at all times. Additionally, our actions should reflect our faith; if we believe in something then our behavior should show it too. In short, this hadith encourages us to always remember Allah through both action and speech so that we can become better Muslims who live according to Islamic teachings.
