Muslims in Europe and America united for the start of Ramadan - 2007
The Fiqh Council of North America (FCNA) and the European Council for Fatwa and Research (ECFR) have come up with similar positions related to the permissibility of the use of calculation method for determining the beginning of Lunar months including the months of Ramadan and Shawwal.
In 2006 FCNA adopted the position that the conjunction should occur before noon at Greenwich time. ECFR has adopted Makkah as a conventional point and has taken the position that the conjunction must take place before sunset in Makkah and moon must set after sunset in Makkah.
FCNA has revised its position and has adopted the position of ECFR. This revised position will change only a few dates in the Fiqh Council's Five year calendar. FCNA hopes that this will bring greater harmony and unity among the Muslim communities in the West.
On the basis of this new position the dates of Ramadan and Eidul Fitr for 2007 are as follows:

1st of Ramadan will be on Thursday, September 13, 2007 1st of Shawwal will be on Saturday, October 13, 2007 |
Saudi Arabia and most of the countries in the Middle East along with Turkey and Indonesia will start Ramadan on September 13.

I have seen quite a few very religious muslim families from pakistan who moved to USA.
In a matter of just a few years they become so democratic that they have no respect for one another and women think they are equal to men in every aspect and they deny to follow the Quran and Allah by saying in USA man and woman are the same and they have same rights.
WHY DONT THE ISLAMIC CENTRE OF AMERICA AND NORTH AMERICA EMPHESIS ON THIS MATTER AND HAVE MORE TEACHINGS AND THAT NO MATTER THEY LIVE IN USA OR SAUDI ARABIA ,, ISLAM IS THE SAME RELIGION AND NEITHER QURAN OR THA AHADEES CAN CHANGE FROM MOVING TO A WESTERN CULTURE FROM A MUSLIM CULTURE.
IT IS SO PAINFUL TO SEE SPECIALLY THE VERY ACTIVE PRACTICING MUSLIM BROTHERS AND SISTERS DIVULGE SO MUCH IN WESTERN SOCIETIES THAN THEIR OWN RELIGION.
