Simpson was lucky; muslims were not.

The acquittal of American football star O.J. Simpson has again divided an already divided America. Polls conducted immediately after the courtroom verdict showed whites were upset while Blacks were jubilant. The media also blamed the majority of blacks in the jury for basing their judgment on race rather than facts. However, in all honesty, one can say that the prosecutors lost the case when they put Los Angeles detective Mike Fuhrman on the stand.

His racist views coupled with doubts about his role in the rigging of the investigation clearly caused doubts in the minds of jurors. The result - an acquittal for O.J. However, in the twilight of the trial appeared sinister tones of anti-Semitism. One of the victims, Goldman, was Jewish. His father brought forward the anti-Semitic card. While everyone sympathizes with the victims, we were revolted by the way Goldman's family tried to cash in on his murder. His father is reported to have said that he is going to milk the man of millions of dollars in private law suits. While all this high drama was being enacted the word Islam appeared on the scene. CNN and other stations while reporting about Simpson's defense lawyer Cochran and the death threats against him, supposedly by Jewish extremists, said that the "Nation of Islam" members had formed a protective force to guard Cochran. The media then went on to talk about its leader Louis Farrakhan and dwelt at length on his so called "anti-Semitic" stance.

The poor Muslims in the United States don't know what to do. They wish they are as lucky as O.J.

A jury in New Yrok found 10 Muslims guilty of planning a wave of terror in New York. They are to be sentenced in January for about 100 years.

A lawyer for the defense said the trial portrayed the case against the Muslims as a political trial reminiscent of the McCarthy era, with Muslims, instead of communists, at the center of the witch-hunt.

Using an ancient law dating back to the American Civil War, the prosecutor charged the Muslims of seditious conspiracy.

There was no television coverage, no media focus on this courtroom.

This does not bode well for Muslims in America.

Using the free American press, writers continue their barrage of anti-Islamic views. They harangue people with their vitriolic message. Their blanket accusations have contributed to anti-Muslim violence which is hardly ever reported in the "free" American press.

In the fall of 1994 and Spring of 1995, mosques were attacked by arsonists on both U.S. coasts.

Millions of Americans sat transfixed as the guardians of free speech quickly and inaccurately blamed Muslims for the Oklahoma City bombings.

Even after it became clear that Muslims did not commit this heinous crime, the campaign continued. Seven Muslims were shot and tens beaten. CBS, one of America's largest network in its program "Eye on America", accused a mosque in Texas of funding terrorists.

It did not bother to check its sources!!

Writers in America try to equate Islam and Muslims with words such as fundamentalist, radical, militant and terrorism. It is a ploy by the Zionist controlled media to associate the religion itself with evil in the minds of readers and viewers.

Whether they like or not, Islam is now the second largest religion in America. Of the millions of Muslims those, more than 50 percent were born in America. Muslims are now a part and parcel of the scene. They also believe in the American dream.

It is, therefore, important that the majority defuse their dogmatic approach. Emotions should not over-rule good sense.

New avenues of goodwill and dialogue should be tread.

The American people should be told that Muslims are their fellow citizens and neighbors. Do not hate them.
