Praying for Rain in Islam

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad prayed for rain by pointing the back of his hands to the sky.

Anas b. Malik reported that the Messenger of Allah prayed for rain pointing the back of his hands to the sky.
وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ اسْتَسْقَى فَأَشَارَ بِظَهْرِ كَفَّيْهِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's prayer for rain. It is narrated that he pointed the back of his hands to the sky when praying for rain. We should also remember that we are not in control of anything but ourselves and our actions; only Allah can provide us with what we need or want.
