Sahih Muslim 882b (Book 7, Hadith 90) #9187
The Prophet's Nafl Prayer After Jumu'a

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) did not perform any extra prayers after Jumu'a until he returned home and prayed two rak'ahs.

'Abdullah b. 'Umar, while describing the Nafl prayer of the Messenger of Allah , said: He did not observe (Nafl) prayer after Jumu'a till he went back and observed two rak'ahs in his house. Yahya said: I guess that I uttered these words (before Imam Malik) that he of course observed (them).

QUICK LESSONS:
Pray regularly and strive to emulate the prophet's example
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the importance of prayer in Islam and how the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was an example for us to follow. He would not perform any extra prayers after attending Friday prayer until he returned home and performed two rak’ahs. This shows us that even though we may be busy with our daily lives, it is important to take time out for prayer as it is a way to connect with Allah SWT. It also teaches us that we should strive to emulate the Prophet’s example in all aspects of our lives as much as possible.
