The Significance of Witr Prayer

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the importance of Witr prayer, which is a single rak'ah at the end of the prayer.

Ibn 'Umar reported Allah's Messenger as saying: Witr is a rak'ah at the end of the prayer.
حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، عَنْ أَبِي التَّيَّاحِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو مِجْلَزٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ الْوِتْرُ رَكْعَةٌ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ

Furthermore, it teaches us that we should always strive for excellence in our worship by going beyond what is required from us by Allah.
