QUICK LESSONS:
Pray according to Islamic law & tradition consistently and mindfully .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's practice of praying different amounts of rak'ahs for different prayers. In this hadith, Anas b. Malik reported that he observed four rak’ahs in the noon prayer with the Messenger of Allah at Medina and two rak’ahs in the afternoon prayer at Dhu’l-Hulaifa. This teaches us that we should be mindful to pray different amounts of rak’ahs for each type of salah according to what is prescribed by Islamic law and tradition. It also shows us that we should be consistent with our prayers, as demonstrated by how regularly Muhammad practiced his salah even when he was travelling or away from home.
