The Practice of Qunut in Dawn Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad asked Anas if the Messenger of Allah observed Qunut in the dawn prayer and Anas replied that he did so after the ruku' for a short while.

Muhammad reported: I asked Anas whether the Messenger of Allah observed Qunut in the dawn prayer. He said: Yes, (he did so) after the ruku', for a short while.
وَحَدَّثَنِي عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ قُلْتُ لأَنَسٍ هَلْ قَنَتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ فِي صَلاَةِ الصُّبْحِ قَالَ نَعَمْ بَعْدَ الرُّكُوعِ يَسِيرًا

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the practice of qunut during dawn prayer. It was narrated by Muhammad who asked Anas whether the Messenger of Allah observed qunut in his dawn prayer and Anas replied that he did so after ruku’ for a short while. This hadith teaches us to follow what our beloved Prophet practiced and to be mindful when performing our prayers. We should also strive to perform our prayers with sincerity and devotion as it is one of the most important acts of worship in Islam.
