Washing the Head of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) During Menstruation

SUMMARY: The hadith is about 'A'isha washing the head of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) while she was in a state of menstruation.

Al-Aswad narrated it from 'A'isha that she observed: I used to wash the head of the Messenger of Allah , while I was in a state of menstruation.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ كُنْتُ أَغْسِلُ رَأْسَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ

It also shows that even though women are restricted from certain activities during their menstrual cycle, they can still perform some tasks such as taking care for their husbands and families.
