Sahih Muslim 72b (Book 1, Hadith 139) #7404
The Blessings of Allah

SUMMARY: Allah showers His blessings upon us, but some people attribute it to other sources instead of Allah.

It is reported on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessing be upon him) observed: Allah does not shower His blessings from the heaven that in the morning a group of men disbelieve it (to be a blessing from Allah). Allah sends down rain, but they (the disbelievers) say: Such and such star (is responsible for that).

QUICK LESSONS:
Be grateful for all blessings received and recognize them as coming from God .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the blessings that Allah bestows upon us. It is reported on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah said that when rain falls from the sky, some people attribute it to a star instead of attributing it to Allah. This hadith teaches us that we should be grateful for all the blessings we receive and recognize them as coming from God and not any other source. We should also remember that no matter how much science advances, only God can provide these blessings and He alone deserves our gratitude for them.

The disbelievers in this hadith are those who do not believe in God or His power to provide these blessings. They think they can explain away these miracles with science or superstition, but they are wrong because only God has control over such things. We must remember this lesson and always give thanks to Him for all He provides us with each day.
