Giving Allegiance to the Prophet Muhammad

SUMMARY: The hadith is about Jarir giving allegiance to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to observe prayer, pay Zakat, and show sincerity and well-wishing for every Muslim.

It is narrated on the authority of Jarir that he observed I gave pledge of allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings be upon him) on the observance of prayer, payment of Zakat, and sincerity and well-wishing for every Muslim.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، وَأَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ عَلَى إِقَامِ الصَّلاَةِ وَإِيتَاءِ الزَّكَاةِ وَالنُّصْحِ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ

This hadith is about Jarir giving his pledge of allegiance to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. By doing so he promised to observe prayer regularly, pay zakat which is a form of charity given by Muslims from their wealth as an act of worship towards Allah SWT, show sincerity in all his actions and have good intentions for every Muslim. This hadith teaches us that we should always strive to fulfill our promises no matter how small they may seem. We should also remember that it is important for us as Muslims to be sincere in our actions and have good intentions towards others. Furthermore, we must always remember that charity is an important part of our faith as it helps those who are less fortunate than us. Finally, this hadith reminds us that we should always strive for unity among ourselves by having good intentions towards one another regardless of any differences we may have.
