Sahih al-Bukhari 754 (Book 10, Hadith 148) #728
Continuing Prayer in the Presence of the Prophet

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) appeared before the Muslims while they were offering Fajr prayer and smiled with pleasure, but he gestured for them to continue their prayer before leaving.

Narrated Anas: While the Muslims were offering the Fajr prayer, Allah's Messenger suddenly appeared before them by living the curtain of the dwelling place of 'Aisha, looked towards the Muslims who were standing in rows. He smiled with pleasure. Abu Bakr started retreating to join the row on the assumption that the Prophet wanted to come out for the prayer. The Muslims intended to leave the prayer (and were on the verge of being put to trial), but the Prophet beckoned them to complete their prayer and then he let the curtain fall. He died in the last hours of that day.

QUICK LESSONS:
Be devoted to your prayers , Respect others' devotion towards Allah's commands .
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ appeared before his companions while they were offering their morning prayers. He smiled with pleasure at seeing them all gathered together in prayer and Abu Bakr assumed that he wanted to join them. However, instead of joining them in prayer, he gestured for them to continue praying and then left. This hadith teaches us that we should always be devoted to our prayers even if someone important or special appears during it. We should not be distracted by anything or anyone when we are praying as it is a time for us to focus on Allah alone. It also shows us how much respect and reverence the Prophet ﷺ had for his followers’ devotion towards Allah’s commands as he did not want to disrupt their worship even though it was him who was appearing before them!
