Sahih al-Bukhari 708 (Book 10, Hadith 103) #683
Compassion for Children in Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) was considerate and compassionate towards children and their mothers, so he would shorten his prayers whenever he heard a child crying.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: I never prayed behind any Imam a prayer lighter and more perfect than that behind the Prophet and he used to cut short the prayer whenever he heard the cries of a child lest he should put the child's mother to trial.

QUICK LESSONS:
Show kindness and consideration towards young children; Respect your parents; Be mindful of others' needs
EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Anas bin Malik speaks of the Prophet's compassion for children and their mothers. He was so considerate that he would shorten his prayer whenever he heard a child crying, in order to avoid putting the mother to trial. This shows us how important it is to be kind and understanding towards children, as well as how much respect we should have for our parents. We can learn from this hadith that we should always be mindful of others' needs, especially those of young children who may not be able to express themselves properly yet. We should also strive to show kindness and compassion towards our parents, as they are the ones who care for us most deeply.
