Mindful Preaching

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) was mindful of his audience when delivering sermons and teachings, ensuring that they were not overwhelmed or bored.

Narrated Ibn Mas'ud: The Prophet used to take care of us in preaching by selecting a suitable time, so that we might not get bored. (He abstained from pestering us with sermons and knowledge all the time).
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ يَتَخَوَّلُنَا بِالْمَوْعِظَةِ فِي الأَيَّامِ، كَرَاهَةَ السَّآمَةِ عَلَيْنَا‏.‏

This hadith teaches us the importance of being mindful of our audience when communicating with them; it is important to be aware of their needs and interests in order to effectively convey our message without overwhelming them.
