This hadith is about a man and his wife who had a case of Lian or Mula’anah during the lifetime of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. In this situation, the husband denied paternity of her child. The Prophet ﷺ then gave his verdict for their separation or divorce and declared that the child belonged to the wife only.
