Sahih al-Bukhari 6745 (Book 85, Hadith 22) #6488
Allah's Support for the Needy

SUMMARY: Allah's Messenger is closer to the believers than their own selves, and will provide for those who die leaving debts, dependents or destitute children.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger said, "I am more closer to the believers than their own selves, so whoever (among them) dies leaving some inheritance, his inheritance will be given to his 'Asaba, and whoever dies leaving a debt or dependents or destitute children, then I am their supporter".

QUICK LESSONS:
Be generous towards your family members; Take responsibility of your debts; Look after those who are less fortunate than yourself; Have faith in God's love & care .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the immense love and care that Allah has for His believers. It tells us that even after death, He will continue to look after them and provide for their needs. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that he is more closer to the believers than they are to themselves. This means that he cares deeply about them and wants what is best for them in this life and in the hereafter. He also said that if someone dies leaving an inheritance, it should be given to his 'Asaba - which refers to his closest relatives such as parents, siblings or children - but if someone dies leaving a debt or dependents or destitute children then Allah will take care of them Himself. This hadith teaches us many values such as generosity towards our family members, taking responsibility for our debts and looking after those who are less fortunate than ourselves. It also reminds us of how much Allah loves His creation and how He always looks out for us no matter what situation we find ourselves in.
