Sahih al-Bukhari 6746 (Book 85, Hadith 23) #6489
Inheritance Shares According to Qur'an

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ taught that the shares of inheritance prescribed in the Qur'an should be given to those who are entitled to receive it, and whatever is left should be given to the closest male relative of the deceased.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The Prophet said, "Give the Fara'id (the shares of the inheritance that are prescribed in the Qur'an) to those who are entitled to receive it; and whatever is left should be given to the closest male relative of the deceased".

QUICK LESSONS:
Give out shares according to what is prescribed in Quran
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us about how inheritance should be distributed according to Islamic law. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that when someone passes away, their estate must first be divided into shares according to what is prescribed in the Qur’an. These shares must then be given out to those who are entitled or have a right over them. Any remaining portion of the estate should then go to the closest male relative of the deceased person. This hadith emphasizes fairness and justice in distributing wealth after someone has passed away, as well as taking care of family members who may not have been directly mentioned in a will or testament.
