The Knowledge of Allah

SUMMARY: Allah knows what the offspring of pagans would have done had they lived.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The Prophet ; was asked about the offspring of the pagans. He said, "Allah knows what they would have done (were they to live).
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ عَنْ أَوْلاَدِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَقَالَ ‏ "‏ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا كَانُوا عَامِلِينَ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the knowledge and power of Allah. It is narrated by Ibn 'Abbas that a person asked the Prophet about the offspring of pagans. The Prophet responded that only Allah knows what they would have done if they were to live. This hadith teaches us that only Allah has complete knowledge and understanding of all things in this world and beyond. He is All-Knowing and All-Seeing; nothing escapes His sight or understanding. We should always remember this when we are faced with difficult decisions or situations in life as He will guide us through them if we turn to Him for help.
