Removing Pictures from the Home

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ returned from a journey and asked Aisha to remove a curtain with pictures that was hung in front of a door.

Narrated Aisha: The Prophet returned from a journey when I had hung a thick curtain having pictures (in front of a door). He ordered me to remove it and I removed it.
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ مِنْ سَفَرٍ، وَعَلَّقْتُ دُرْنُوكًا فِيهِ تَمَاثِيلُ، فَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَنْزِعَهُ، فَنَزَعْتُهُ‏.‏

This hadith is about the importance of removing images or pictures from one's home. It was narrated by Aisha, who said that when the Prophet returned from a journey, she had hung up a thick curtain with pictures in front of her door. The Prophet then asked her to remove it, which she did. This hadith teaches us that we should not have any kind of images or pictures in our homes as they are considered disrespectful and inappropriate according to Islamic teachings.
