Rejecting Superstitious Beliefs

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ has forbidden the practice of superstitious beliefs such as 'Adwa, Tiyarah, Hama and Safar.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "There is no 'Adwa, nor Tiyarah, nor Hama, nor Safar".
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ، حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ، أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو حَصِينٍ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ قَالَ ‏ "‏ لاَ عَدْوَى، وَلاَ طِيَرَةَ، وَلاَ هَامَةَ، وَلاَ صَفَرَ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is narrated by Abu Huraira and it conveys a message from the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ that there is no truth in superstitious beliefs such as 'Adwa, Tiyarah, Hama and Safar. These are all false practices that have no basis in reality. The Prophet ﷺ was warning us against believing in these things and instead to focus on our faith in Allah SWT alone. He wanted us to understand that only Allah SWT has control over our lives and we should not be swayed by superstitions or other false beliefs. We should put our trust in Him alone for guidance and protection.
