Offering Sacrifices with the Hands of the Prophet (ﷺ)

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) used to offer two horned rams as sacrifices and slaughter them with his own hands.

Narrated Anas: The Prophet used to offer as sacrifices, two horned rams, black and white in color, and used to put his foot on their sides and slaughter them with his own hands.
حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسٌ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ كَانَ يُضَحِّي بِكَبْشَيْنِ أَمْلَحَيْنِ أَقْرَنَيْنِ، وَوَضَعَ رِجْلَهُ عَلَى صَفْحَتِهِمَا، وَيَذْبَحُهُمَا بِيَدِهِ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the practice of offering sacrifices that was done by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It is narrated by Anas ibn Malik that the Prophet ﷺ used to offer two horned rams, black and white in color, as a sacrifice and he would put his foot on their sides and slaughter them with his own hands. This act of sacrificing animals was a way for people to show their gratitude towards Allah SWT for all His blessings. It also teaches us about being humble, generous, and kind-hearted towards others. Furthermore, it shows us how important it is to be thankful for all that we have been given in life. Additionally, this hadith also serves as an example of how we should strive to be like our beloved prophet ﷺ in our daily lives; by being humble yet generous at the same time.
