Sacrificing Animals in the Name of Allah

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) offered two horned rams as a sacrifice and slaughtered them with his own hands while mentioning Allah's Name.

Narrated Anas: The Prophet offered as sacrifices, two horned rams, black and white in color. He slaughtered them with his own hands and mentioned Allah's Name over them and said Takbir and put his foot on their sides.
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ ضَحَّى النَّبِيُّ بِكَبْشَيْنِ أَمْلَحَيْنِ أَقْرَنَيْنِ، ذَبَحَهُمَا بِيَدِهِ، وَسَمَّى وَكَبَّرَ وَوَضَعَ رِجْلَهُ عَلَى صِفَاحِهِمَا‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ sacrificing two horned rams, one black and one white in color. He did this with his own hands, mentioning Allah’s name over them and saying Takbir while putting his foot on their sides. This act of sacrificing animals is an important part of Islamic tradition that has been practiced since the time of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ . It is done to remember the great sacrifice that God made for us by sending His beloved prophet to guide us towards righteousness and piety. By sacrificing animals, we are reminded to be grateful for all that God has given us and to be mindful of our actions so as not to displease Him.
