QUICK LESSONS:
Respect Animals

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith narrates that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ prohibited two things in the year of the Battle of Khaibar; temporary marriage known as Al-Mut’a and eating donkey meat. Temporary marriage is a type of contract between two people where they agree to be married for a certain period with specific conditions. The Prophet ﷺ forbade this type of marriage because it was being abused by some people who would use it to satisfy their desires without any commitment or responsibility. Eating donkey meat was also forbidden because donkeys are used for laborious work and are considered valuable animals that should not be killed for food. This hadith teaches us to respect animals and not take advantage of others through temporary marriages or other means.
