Eating Horse Flesh Allowed

SUMMARY: On the day of the battle of Khaibar, Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) made donkey's meat unlawful and allowed the eating of horse flesh.

Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah: On the Day of the battle of Khaibar, Allah's Messenger made donkey's meat unlawful and allowed the eating of horse flesh.
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ـ رضى الله عنهم ـ قَالَ نَهَى النَّبِيُّ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ عَنْ لُحُومِ الْحُمُرِ، وَرَخَّصَ فِي لُحُومِ الْخَيْلِ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a ruling that was given by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ on the day of the battle of Khaibar. He made it unlawful to eat donkey's meat and allowed people to eat horse flesh instead.
