Cursing Those Who Harm Animals

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) cursed those who cause harm to animals by cutting their limbs or body while they are still alive.

Narrated Sa'id bin Jubair: While I was with Ibn 'Umar, we passed by a group of young men who had tied a hen and started shooting at it. When they saw Ibn 'Umar, they dispersed, leaving it. On that Ibn 'Umar said, "Who has done this? The Prophet cursed the one who did so". Narrated Ibn 'Umar: The Prophet cursed the one who did Muthla to an animal (i e., cut its limbs or some other part of its body while it is still alive).

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of being kind to animals. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ cursed those who cause harm to animals by cutting their limbs or body while they are still alive. This shows us that we should be compassionate and merciful towards all living creatures, not just humans. We should treat them with respect and kindness, as Allah has commanded us in the Quran. We should also remember that Allah is watching over us at all times, so we must always strive to do what is right and avoid doing anything wrong or cruel.

The Prophet's curse serves as a reminder for us to be mindful of our actions when it comes to animals, as well as other living creatures around us. It teaches us that we must take responsibility for our actions and think twice before doing something that may hurt another creature in any way. We must also remember that Allah will hold each one of us accountable for our deeds on the Day of Judgment, so it is important for us to always act with kindness and mercy towards all living things around us.
