QUICK LESSONS:
Follow Islamic guidelines for slaughtering animals
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith narrated by Asma bint Abu Bakr tells us that it is permissible to slaughter and eat horses according to Islamic teachings. This was done during the lifetime of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ did not forbid this practice so it can be assumed that it is allowed in Islam. Eating horse meat has been a part of many cultures for centuries and this hadith confirms its permissibility in Islam as well. It should be noted that the horse must be slaughtered according to Islamic guidelines before being eaten.
