Sahih al-Bukhari 5408 (Book 70, Hadith 36) #5182
Prayer Without Ablution

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) was cutting a shoulder piece of mutton and was called for prayer, so he put down the knife and stood for prayer without performing ablution again.

Narrated 'Amr bin Umaiyya: that he saw the Prophet holding a shoulder piece of mutton in his hand and cutting part of it with a knife. Then he was called for the prayer whereupon he put down the shoulder piece and the knife with which he was cutting it, and then stood for prayer without performing ablution again.

QUICK LESSONS:
Prioritize your prayers over other activities, perform ablutions before each prayer on time .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of prayer in Islam. It shows that even if one is busy with something else, they should still prioritize their prayers over everything else. In this hadith, we see that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was cutting a shoulder piece of mutton when he was called to pray. He immediately put down his knife and stood up for prayer without performing ablution again. This teaches us that no matter what we are doing or how busy we are, our prayers should always come first as it is an obligation upon us as Muslims to fulfill our five daily prayers on time. We must also remember to perform ablutions before each prayer in order to be spiritually clean before standing in front of Allah SWT.
