Respect your elders and those in authority over you; consult with knowledgeable people before taking decisions; seek proper permissions before making important decisions like marriage etc..

This hadith is about the refusal of permission by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ for Ali to marry the daughter of Banu Al-Mughira. This hadith teaches us that even though marriage is a blessed act in Islam, it should not be done without proper permission from those who are responsible and have authority over us. It also shows us that we should always respect and obey our elders and those in authority over us. Furthermore, this hadith also teaches us that we should never take any decision without consulting with those who are more knowledgeable than ourselves or have more experience in a certain matter.
