The Power of Reciting the Qur'an with a Pleasant Tone

SUMMARY: Allah listens to the recitation of the Qur'an in a pleasant tone more than any other form of prayer.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger said, "Allah does not listen to a prophet as He listens to a prophet who recites the Qur'an in a pleasant tone". The companion of the sub-narrator (Abu Salama) said, "It means, reciting it aloud".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how Allah listens to those who recite the Quran in a pleasant tone. It is narrated by Abu Huraira, one of Prophet Muhammad's companions, that Allah's Messenger said that Allah does not listen to a prophet as He listens to a prophet who recites the Quran in a pleasant tone. This means that when we recite the Quran with an enjoyable and melodious voice, it will be more pleasing and accepted by Allah than any other form of prayer. It also teaches us that we should take care when reciting or reading from the Quran so as not to make it sound monotonous or boring. We should strive for excellence in our recitation and make sure our voices are clear and beautiful so as to gain maximum reward from our efforts.
