Sahih al-Bukhari 5024 (Book 66, Hadith 46) #4805
Reciting the Qur'an with Devotion

SUMMARY: Allah listens to a prophet who recites the Qur'an in a loud and pleasant tone, as opposed to one who does not regard the Qur'an as something that makes him dispense with many worldly pleasures.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet I said, "Allah does not listen to a prophet as He listens to a prophet who recites the Qur'an in a loud and pleasant tone". Sufyan said, "This saying means: a prophet who regards the Qur'an as something that makes him dispense with many worldly pleasures".
